LAKE PEND OREILLE, IDAHO
Inspired by the stillness of ancient forests, this home was positioned to frame sweeping views of the Selkirk Range, Lake Pend Oreille, and Sandpoint—while preserving a striking moss-covered granite knoll at the heart of the site.
Curated timbers, chosen for their natural, tree-like character, were joined to form the home’s structural framework. Their charred surfaces speak to the evolving landscapes of the American West, while introducing a rich, tactile palette that feels both grounded and sensual.
Balancing our devotion to traditional craft with the rigor of building science, we employed Passive House analysis to create a home that is as high-performing as it is timeless—an enduring space of comfort, beauty, and deep connection to place.
